The Faith and Work Award is designed to honour Christians who over a lifetime have integrated their faith and work. This tradition has been revived by Ethos: EA Centre for Christianity & Society and Ridley Marketplace Institute to highlight the importance of faith and work integration or the Sunday-Monday connection.

The 2016 Award recipient and addressing the topic “Reflections on being a Christian leading the ABC” is Mark Scott, outgoing ABC Managing Director. Under his leadership the ABC established a reputation as Australia’s leading digital media innovator. He has also led a shift within the organisation to one that emphasises the values of respect, integrity, collegiality and innovation. Before joining the ABC, Mr Scott served 12 years in a variety of editorial and executive positions with Fairfax Media.

Earlier recipients of the Faith and Work Award were Graeme Clark, inventor of the bionic ear, John Anderson, former Deputy PM, Wendy Simpson OAM, entrepreneur and women’s leadership mentor and last year’s recipient Barney Zwartz, former Age Religion Editor.
