Some may think of protest songs as confined to the '60's and 70's, when the times were a-changing and people asked, "War - what is it good for?" However, this genre of music spans the decades and still has a place in contemporary music.
On the back of the successful Beatles Tribute concerts, where many friends gathered to listen to a live band and sing along to well-known songs, St. Michael's presents this new musical event with a conscience.
Come hear (and sing) those songs both new and old that help us ponder the pleas of songwriters whose hearts were moved by injustice and the challenges of our world.
Venue:
St Michael's Anglican Church
Corner McIlwraith and MacPherson Streets,
North Carlton 3054
Getting there by tram: From Swanston Street in the City, catch the No. 1 East Coburg or No. 8 Toorak in the direction of Moreland. Alight at stop 117 (Richardson St).
