We are getting things ready for you to return…
The end of Covid-19 lockdown in Melbourne comes as a great relief to all. St Michael’s North Carlton is preparing the safest possible environment for you to soon return to in-person worship services and meetings in the coming weeks. We are not open to the public just yet. There are still some restrictions on gatherings we must abide by for a while longer. Some members of the congregation will help prepare the way for us all to get back to regular attendance. We’ll practice new protocols and be ready for you to return soon to a safe and welcoming environment. Covid-19 still poses a high level of risk in Melbourne to serious illness or death and case numbers remain high, so we intend to take every precaution as we come back. Not everyone will be able to return to the church site at first. Numbers are restricted for worship services held indoors to 20 people who are fully vaccinated (plus those necessary for the leading of the service). All clergy, volunteers and workers in these worship services must also be fully vaccinated. For those who cannot yet attend worship services in person we continue to offer livestreaming. People can join us in real-time online for services via Facebook and YouTube and for many other church meetings via Zoom. All clergy, volunteers and workers doing other church work on church premises must have had a single dose of an approved Covid-19 vaccine by Friday, 22 October. This includes maintenance, gardening, broadcasting a service, offering essential food or other relief, staff in op shops, and working in the church office. All volunteers and workers must have their vaccination status recorded by the Vicar before or on the day of attending the church site. These settings are in place to keep you and others as safe as possible from the serious dangers presented by the Covid-19 virus.
